In our clinic, we support a wide range of health concerns—including hormonal imbalances, skin conditions, stress and anxiety, sleep disturbances, and a variety of gut-related issues.

You might be wondering how naturopathy and nutrition can help with these conditions. Below are some of the most common concerns we see and support in practice.

Perimenopause — the transitional phase leading up to menopause — is a time of significant hormonal shifts that can bring a variety of symptoms, including hot flashes, mood changes, sleep disturbances, and irregular cycles (read more about perimenopause here).

Perimenopause can last for up to a decade before you officially reach menopause. Most women reach menopause sometime around ages 51-52, but the age varies. This means you can start experiencing perimenopause symptoms shortly after you turn 40.

Perimenopause

Some of the perimenopause symptoms can certainly be very disruptive to everyday life. This is where nutrition and naturopathy can make a difference. Getting the right nutrition will help your body move and function so much better. Herbal medicine can regulate many symptoms, including hot flushes, insomnia, anxiety, mood disturbances and so many more. Struggling with IBS or Gut Symptoms?

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common and often frustrating condition. Symptoms vary from person to person but frequently include abdominal pain, bloating, excess gas, and changes in bowel habits — such as constipation, diarrhea, or both. These symptoms can be unpredictable and significantly impact daily life.

But IBS isn’t the only issue we see. In fact, gut health plays a central role in most conditions we treat. As Hippocrates said, “All disease begins in the gut.”

By using advanced testing to assess your gut microbiome, we can uncover the root causes of your symptoms. From there, we develop a personalised treatment plan to restore balance and support your overall health and wellbeing.

Osteopenia & osteoporosis prevention

Osteopenia, and osteoporosis, are closely linked to menopause. During perimenopause, estrogen levels begin to decline. Estrogen is a key hormone for maintaining bone density, as it:

  • Inhibits bone breakdown (resorption)

  • Promotes bone formation

  • Helps calcium absorption and retention

As estrogen drops, the balance tips toward greater bone loss, leading to reduced bone mass. Osteopenia is the precursor to osteoporosis, as this is a condition where bone mineral density is lower than normal but not low enough to be called osteoporosis.

The good news is that there is plenty we can do to prevent osteopenia and certainly osteoporosis from happening. This includes dietary and lifestyle changes, as well as the right nutritional supplements. Book for a 1:1 consultation here to see how naturopathy & nutrition can help.

Naturopathy can support people experiencing anxiety and depression by addressing underlying causes and promoting whole-body balance. While it doesn't replace psychological therapies or necessary medication, naturopathic strategies can complement conventional treatments effectively.

We look for drivers such as hormonal imbalances, poor gut health (think gut-brain connection), chronic stress, inflammation, poor sleep, nutrient deficiencies, or chronic illness that could be underlying mental health challenges.

We address underlying issues by suggesting dietary and lifestyle changes, and also often provide herbal and nutritional support in the form of liquid herbs and supplements.

Naturopathy should be considered complementary, not alternative, to conventional mental health care, especially for moderate to severe cases. We like to collaborate with psychologists, GPs, and psychiatrists to ensure safety and comprehensive care.
